Course Name : Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology

When computer and communications technologies are combined, the result is information technology, or "infotech". There is a swift convergence in the areas of computing and communications as a result of relations developing in the data and information environment .IT professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases, data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design as well as the management and administration of entire systems. The goal of the Department is thus to cater to all the above needs and prepare students both in theoretical and practical knowledge to face the challenges of the fast becoming technology world.

Students take up electives from a wide choice of subjects, such as Embedded Low Power Systems, Object Oriented Systems, Information and System Security and Software Reliability.

Eligibility Details

Course Name : Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology

Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) Examination from any recognised Board with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Candidates should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at Class XII level and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics.

Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May may apply with their class X and XI marks.

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels, grades not less than C

Lateral Entry:
Candidates who have successfully completed the 3 year diploma in Engineering are eligible to apply for lateral entry into engineering programmes.
