Department Insight

Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline in one of the oldest engineering disciplines to encompass diverse areas of Engineering to address today’s engineering needs. It deals with the generation, distribution and application of electricity, electronic hardware, embedded system, automation and control, Power Electronics and emerging areas like VLSI, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, software and E-Mobility/Electric vehicle technology. Since the discipline is diverse it offers varied job opportunities in areas such as design, manufacturing and testing of electrical and electronic equipment, automation, control, power generation and transmission, illumination, Software industry, E-Mobility and Electric vehicles. To facilitate students learning skills, sessions on problem solving, creative thinking, open-ended experiments, mini and live projects and course projects are included in the curriculum. The department is equipped with basic and advanced laboratories. Department organizes seminars and workshops on areas of the latest technology. Students are exposed to live innovative projects, internships in reputed industry from 3 Semester onwards to final semester and also encouraged to publish papers and presentations in Conferences. The graduates are placed in the reputed industries.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was Incepted in year 2010

From HoD's Desk

The primary objective of EEE Department is to skill the graduates for industrial and societal needs to work with the latest technology in the areas of Power Systems, Machines, Microcontrollers, Power Electronics, Renewable, Motor drives, Smart Grids, Signal Processing, Electric Vehicles and data analytic software etc. To achieve this goal, the department has team of highly qualified, committed and self-motivated teachers with wide and varied experience in academics, industry and research organizations. The department is constantly updating its infrastructure facilities, expertise, research domains and introducing interdisciplinary courses with emphasis on skill and competency building and core knowledge. As per new education guidelines we focus on outcome-based education involving hands-on experiential learning. Another hallmark of our educational system is Holistic education which trains students in personal, interpersonal and societal skills to deal with the outside world. Laboratories are equipped with equipment that is in line with current industry trends. The department constantly interacts with industry, research organizations and academia to produce globally competent engineering graduates with human values, sense of responsibility and good communication skills. Our Graduates work in Government sectors, private companies, as consulting engineers or as entrepreneurs in the field of research, design, projects, production, maintenance and testing etc.

State of Art

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has procured
state-of-the-art equipments and has class leading laboratory for hands on learning.

Ecosense Renewable Energy Laboratory

The aim of this laboratory is to provide a better platform for understanding the concepts of renewable energy system and its application to practical systems. This laboratory imparts hands on experience in Solar Energy PV Systems (Solar PV Training & Research Kit, Solar PV Grid Tied Training System and Solar PV Emulator), Wind Energy Systems (Wind Energy Training System and Wind Turbine Emulator) and Solar Thermal Energy Systems (Solar Concentrator Training System and Solar Thermal Training System)

Electrical Machines Laboratory

School of Engineering & Technology – Christ University owns the industry graded -state of art- Electrical Machines laboratory. It is well equipped with Transformers, DC Generators and Motors, Induction machines and Synchronous machines with power electronics control. This laboratory serves students to understand working and characteristics of various electrical machines. The laboratory exposes the students to the operation of DC machines, transformers, AC generators and induction machines and gives them experimental skill. At the end of the course students will be able to design and conduct experiments to analyse the performance of various electrical machines.

FESTO AUTOMATION TRAINING CENTRE

The centre is aimed to impart automation skill to students to develop skills which are required for many manufacturing and processing industries. Main focus of the centre is on skill development on industrial automation through pneumatics, hydraulics, electro pneumatics, electro hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, Fluid Sim (software) and codesys - IEC 61131-3 programming tools. Students have the opportunity to do their internship on industrial automation in republican institute for vocational education, Minsk, Belarus. after successfully completing the courses offered from the centre on industrial automation. The internship is about industry revolution 4.0 which is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies.

Research Facility

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has invested towards industry
oriented curriculum through procurement of advanced machinery and control for providing
hands on learning experience for the students. Interdisciplinary knowledge enhancement
has always been focus of the department.

R & D Center

E-Mobility

The E-mobility Research and Development Center at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) established in collaboration with Safran Engineering Services and IEEE. The facility aims at developing competency in Research and Product Development in avenues that include improved Charging infrastructure, Battery Sciences, Smart Electric Drive systems, IoT technologies for EVs, Connected Vehicles, Hybrid Power trains, Battery & Energy management Systems, Vehicle to Grid integration and improved Power System Dynamics.
